Angela Eagle is a Labour politician, who has been the MP for Wallasey since 1992. Angela has been an active member of the Labour party since she was young, first joining aged 17 and since holding various positions in the party, including Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury and Shadow Leader of the House. She has campaigned on issues such as cuts to disability benefits and NHS services.
She comes to the festival after the recent publication of her book The New Serfdom. Co-authored with Imran Ahmed, it asks: how can we build a successful economy, powered by a happy and productive workforce that benefits everyone in the 21st century?
