Wednesday's Wolves are Chrissy Renker and Ysabelle Durant, a female contemporary folk duo from Oxfordshire. Both third culture kids, they met while at school in Sri Lanka although their musical collaboration didn't start until they had both finished university. They first started playing and writing original material together in 2013.
Since forming the band. they have been playing at venues around the UK, mainly London and Oxfordshire, and have performed on the same bill as Amber Run, Seafret, Flyte, Beth Rowley, and Iain Archer. In 2017 their song 'Off This Earth' was played on BBC Radio 1 by DJ Huw Stephens who went on to select it as his BBC Introducing Tip Of The Week. They were also invited to perform at BBC Music Introducing Hosts Amplify 2017 in London.
Their songs use simple guitar riffs and vocal harmonies combined with percussive instruments such as cajon and glockenspiel to create emotive and evocative music, usually with a melancholic edge.
