After graduating from King's College Cambridge wih a PhD in poetry and philosophy, Shahidha Bari joined the London College of Fashion as a Professor of Fashion Cultures. Shahidha's research in fashion, phenomenology and feminism are reflected in her recent book Dressed: The Secret Life of Clothes which recieved much critical acclaim for its groundbreaking investigation.
Outside of academia, Shahidha writes regularly for the Financial Times, Guardian and Frieze among other newspapers and recieved the Observer/Anthony Burgess Prize for Arts Journalism in 2015. She appeacts regularly as a cultural critic on BBC Television as well as Woman's Hour and the Saturday Review.
