Jim Al-Khalili is a quantum physicist, broadcaster and popular science writer. Perhaps best known for presenting the BBC Radio 4 show The Life Scientific, he has interviewed the biggest names in science, from Neil de Grasse Tyson to Helen Sharman to Sir Roger Penrose.
Jim is Professor of Theoretical Physics and Chair in the Public Engagement in Science at the University of Surrey. Jim was president of the British Humanist Association between January 2013 and 2016. He was awarded the Michael Faraday in 2007, the Kelvin Medal and Prize in 2011 and the Stephen Hawking Medal for Science Communication in 2016.
