David Goodhart is a British journalist and cultural commentator, and the founder and former editor of Prospect magazine. After working as a correspondent for the Financial Times for 12 years, David founded the popular general interest magazine Prospect in 1995, which covers British current affairs across politics, economics and culture.
David's book, The Road to Somewhere, which redefines British political categories, has become a classic. He has also recently argued that the BBC News coverage of Covid-19 has been too emotional and simplified, and should instead calmly and rigorously interrogate the complex issues raised rather than patronisingly praising and reassuring the public.
