Dawn Butler is a Labour MP who served Shadow Women & Equalities Secretary in Jeremy Corbyn's cabinet, and ran for Deputy Leadership last winter. Dawn was first selected as a Labour candidate in Brent South and retained the seat at the 2005 general election making her only the third black woman to become a British MP. She served in the Brown ministry as Minister for Young Citizens and Youth Engagement and has also served as the Shadow Minister for Diverse Communities. Dawn has been a long term supporter of Jeremy Corbyn and has been described as one of his 'closest allies'.
