"Animal rights charities are fellow travellers of the Marxists and Rousseauists waging identity politics against the countryside."
Jamie Blackett is a farmer, author, politician and journalist, who writes about rural life, politics and conservationism for publications like the Daily Telegraph and the Spectator. Joining the army at 19, Jamie left in 2002, turning his hand to farming and writing. Jamie is also leader of the All for Unity party, a unionist party in Scotland founded by George Galloway in 2020.
Jamie's latest book, Red Rag to a Bull: Rural Life in an Urban Age, is a humourous tale of how Jamie arrived home from the Army to run a farm and discovered the emerging political and environmental challenges that threaten the farming way of life.
