Grace Blakeley is an English economics and politics commentator, columnist, journalist and author. She is a staff writer for Tribune and was previously the economics commentator of the New Statesman. She also contributes to Novara Media and makes regular appearances on national television commenting on economic and political matters.
Her first book, Stolen: How To Save the World from Financialisation, argues that the recovery from the 2007-8 credit crunch mainly benefited the 1%, and that a shift to democratic socialism is urgently needed to resolve mounting inequality and the domination of finance capital. While her 2020 book, The Corona Crash, theorises about the epoch-making changes that the coronavirus brings in its wake.
