In India, thousands of babies are aborted every year because they are girls. In the region of Punjab, 1000 boys are born for every 750 girls. Filmed over six years, this powerful film follows Neelam Bala, a local midwife and activist on a mission to stop this injustice by challenging a tradition which values a girl’s life less than a boy’s.
Selected for HotDocs 2019, this film showcases a remarkable character fighting for justice for women across India.
