Steve Keen is one of the world's most provocative economists. Celebrated and controversial, Keen was one of the few economists to warn of the 2008 financial crisis, predicting as early as 2005 that the boom in private debt in developed countries was unsustainable.

Keen is the author of several books including Debunking Economics, where he launches a full-range critique of Neoclassical economics. Keen argues that the support for doctrines such as free trade among economists is based on dogma, not rational argument or empirical evidence. Now an independent researcher, Keen holds the titles of Honorary Professor and Distinguished Research Fellow at UCL.
