Shahidha Bari

Shahidha Bari is a critic, academic, and broadcaster whose work spans literature, philosophy, fashion, and the history of ideas. Professor of Fashion Cultures and Histories at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, she has built a reputation as one of Britain's most wide-ranging and intellectually ambitious cultural voices. 

Her book Dressed: A Philosophy of Clothes reads fashion not as vanity but as a key to understanding identity, desire, and what it means to be human. Her most recent book, Look Again: Fashion argues that thinking seriously about dress takes us into the heart of society, culture, and politics. Bari is also a host of BBC Radio 4's arts and ideas programme Free Thinking.
