Funny Women finalist, part of the BBC Comedy Asian Network and listed in Dua Lipa’s ‘Service 95’ magazine as one of “5 new faces to know bringing a fresh perspective to the comedy scene”, Fatiya Saleh is hot off performances at Latitude Festival. She has since featured in the Comedy Queen’s sold‑out UK tour. Born and raised in North West London to a Somali mother and Yemeni father, Fathiya’s comedy offers her own cutting perspectives on topics exploring cultural identity and family dynamics, the absurdities of everyday workplace life and challenges, what it is like being one of the “girlies” and navigating the world as a young Muslim. It's tough out there, but at least it's funny content. Sometimes.
