Danielle Sands

Danielle Sands is a philosopher, writer, and senior lecturer at Royal Holloway, University of London, whose work spans literature, philosophy, and critical theory. With a rare ability to move between classic texts and contemporary culture, Sands explores how philosophy can shed light on modern moral and political landscapes.

Sands is best known for her work on continental philosophy, drawing on thinkers from Derrida to Spinoza to reframe how we understand belief in the age of disillusionment. She is the author of Animal Writing: Storytelling, Selfhood and the Limits of Empathy and, most recently, Writing Religion & Politics After Derrida.
