David Chalmers is an Australian philosopher and cognitive scientist who specialises in the philosophy of mind, language and more recently, virtual reality. He is best known for formulating the hard problem of consciousness. He is a Professor of Philosophy and Neural Science at New York University, as well as co-director of NYU's Center for Mind, Brain and Consciousness.
Chalmers has written several books, his most recent being Reality+: Virtual Worlds and the problems of philosophy. Additionally, he has made multiple media appearances on Closer to Truth, TED and the Future of Life institute.
