"Is there anything science should not try to explain? Science is knowledge and knowledge is power – power to do good or evil. Sometimes ignorance is bliss."

Paul Davies is Regents’ Professor of Physics and Director of the Beyond Center for Fundamental Concepts in Science at Arizona State University. He works on the “big questions” of existence, ranging from the origin of the universe to the origin of life, from the nature of time to foundational questions in quantum mechanics.
Paul was pivotal in creating the theory of quantum fields in curved space time and was a forerunner of the theory that life on Earth may have come from Mars. He has twice debated scientific topics with the Dalai Lama and is the recipient of the highly prestigious Templeton Prize for his work on the deeper implications of science. He is also a best-selling author of many popular science books, including, most recently, What’s Eating the Universe?.
