Linda Bauld OBE is a behavioural scientist who currently serves as the Bruce and John Usher Chair in Public Health in the Usher Institute, College of Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. Her research focuses on two main areas: the evaluation of complex interventions to improve health, and how research can inform public health policy.

Linda has played a central part in advising the Scottish Government during the COVID 19 pandemic, and was appointed as their Chief Social Policy Adviser in 2021. She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the Academy of Social Sciences, the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and the Faculty of Public Health.
