Dean Rickles is Professor of History and Philosophy of Modern Physics at the University of Sydney. Rickles' primary research is cutting-edge, focusing on studying the foundations of quantum gravity research. Beyond quantum gravity, Rickles also has strong interests in musicology, econophysics, climate science, neuroscience, computing and, the philosophy of religion.

Rickles is the author of several books, including Dual-Aspect Monism and the Deep Structure of Meaning, What is Philosophy of Science? and Covered with Deep Mist: The Development of Quantum Gravity. Rickles has also written for The Conversation and Psychology Today.
