“That’s what science does. At the end there’s a result based on maths and logic. If one is equal to one, we can all agree on that. Maths don’t lie.”

"Claudia de Rham is a Swiss theoretical physicist working at the interface of gravity, cosmology and particle physics. She is based at Imperial College London where she is the Director of the Abdus Salam Centre for Theoretical Physics. She is recognized for being the most impactful author since 2010. Professor de Rham is well known for her groundbreaking research into the theory of massive gravity, a radical theory that contends the graviton has a nonzero mass, potentially explaining the expansion of the universe without the need for dark energy.

She was the winner of the 2020 UK Blavatnik Award for Young Scientists in Physical Sciences and Engineering. She’s an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a Fellow of the Academy for the Mathematical Sciences and the 2025 winner of the Swiss Talent award. She is the author of hundreds of top cited publications, an encyclopedia textbook on Modified Gravity in Cosmology and a popular science book “The Beauty of Falling: A life in pursuit of Gravity."

"De Rham has pioneered a radical theory that could hold the key to why the universe is expanding faster and faster and explain the nature of dark energy." — Hannah Devlin
