Sally Haslanger is the Ford Professor of Philosophy at MIT and a philosophy of gender and race. Having earned her PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and taught at Princeton, Haslanger is recognised as one of the foremost analytic feminists in the US.

Haslanger's book Resisting Reality: Social Construction and Social Critique was awarded the Joseph B. Gittler Prize in 2014 for "outstanding scholarly contribution in the field of the philosophy." Her recent work Ideology in Practice: What Does Ideology Do? explores how systematic structures shape identity and inequality.
