Rachel Millward

Rachel Millward is Deputy Leader of the Green Party of England and Wales. She entered politics in 2021, winning the Hartfield seat on Wealden District Council from the Conservatives in a by-election by just 122 votes. She retained the seat in 2023 with an increased majority, and was appointed joint-leader of the council that same year, heading a coalition with the Liberal Democrats.
In 2025 Millward stood for the Green Party deputy leadership, and was elected joint deputy leader alongside Mothin Ali under the newly elected leader Zack Polanski, She is now the Green Party’s candidate for the inaugural Mayor of Sussex and Brighton in 2028.
