Alister McGrath holds the Chair in Theology, Ministry and Education at Kings College London, and is Emeritus Andreas Idreos Professor of Science and Religion at Oxford. Beginning his academics in molecular biophysics before turning to Christian theology, McGrath has spent his career arguing that science and faith are not in conflict.

McGrath is best known for his widely used textbooks Christian Theology: An Introduction and for his robust intellectual challenge to New Atheism, most visibly in The Dawkins Delusion? and The Twilight of Atheism. His prize-winning 2013 biography of C.S. Lewis, which won the ECPA Christian Book Award, confirmed his standing as one of the foremost authorities on Lewis's life and thought.
