Peter Tatchell is considered to be one of the most important human rights campaigner in the UK today. Best known for his work with the LGBTQ+ movement, he is a member of the gay rights group Outrage! and director of the Peter Tatchell Foundation, a human rights organization.

Peter began campaigning in London, organizing sit-ins at pubs that refused to serve gay people and protests against the classification of homosexuality as an illness. He famously performed a citizens arrest on Robert Mugabe for crimes against humanity. Peter also identifies as a humanist, believing that reason, science and ethics are the best way to promote human rights and welfare.
