Simon May is a Visiting Professor of Philosophy at King's College London. His interests lie in ethics, the philosophy of emotions, with a particular focus on the philosophy of love, as well as questions of identity and belonging.
May's most recent book is Love: A New Understanding of an Ancient Emotion, which not only proposes a wholly new theory on the nature of love but also builds on his previous work in the field. Beyond his academic interests, May has also written extensively on aphorisms and their forms. His articles have appeared in The Washington Post and the Financial Times. His own book on the subject, Thinking Aloud: A Collection of Aphorisms was named Financial Times Book of the Year.
"Simon May writes with elegant insight, giving us the gift of truth about the human condition." — A.C. Grayling
