Appearing in: The Centre of the Universe
"We are analog beings living in a digital world, facing a quantum future."
Neil Turok is a preeminent mathematical physicist and early-universe researcher. His early work developed open inflation theory with Stephen Hawking. He now argues against the big bang, developing a cyclic model of the universe with Paul Steinhardt. Neil is the inaugural Higgs Chair of Theoretical Physics at the University of Edinburgh and director emeritus of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics.
Outside of his astounding achievements in research, Turok founded the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Muizenberg, a postgraduate educational centre supporting the development of mathematics and science across the African continent. For which he has received nunourous awards for his contributions to international leadership in Physics.
"Neil Turok conveys not only the excitement of forefront research, but the gripping human drama of exploring ourselves and the cosmos." - Brian Greene
