"The stated purpose of a criminal justice system is to effectively deliver justice, and yet certain aspects law are clearly incompatible with this objective; there can be no stronger argument for reform than this."
Emma Bryson is a passionate advocate for justice reform, with a focus on sexual offenses. She has a wealth of experience campaigning for legal reforms to improve Criminal Justice for victims and survivors of sexual offences.
In 2017 she launched the campaign group Speak Out Survivors calling for legal reform in Scotland, where the centuries-old definition of corroboration of evidence prevents the majority of reported sexual offences from ever being prosecuted. She is also a member of the Scottish Parliament's Cross Party Group on Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse.
