Matthew Taylor is a writer, public speaker, and broadcaster, who has been Chief Executive of the Royal Society of Arts, the London-based, pro-Enlightenment organisation seeking practical solutions to society's challenges.
The only son of sociologist Laurie Taylor, Matthew became a Warwickshire county councillor for the Labour Party, and rose to become Campaign Co-Ordinator and Director of Policy for the party during the 1997 election season. He was later Chief Adviser on Strategy to Tony Blair upon the latter's successful reelection in 2005. He is a regular public speaker on such topics as public service reform and education policy.
