David Goodhart is a British journalist and cultural commentator, and the founder and former editor of Prospect magazine. After working as a correspondent for the Financial Times for 12 years, Goodhart founded the popular general interest magazine Prospect in 1995, which covers British current affairs across politics, economics and culture.

Goodhart's views have sparked controversy. He has argued that "sharing and solidarity can conflict with diversity", in a marked departure from liberal consensus on the issue; in his book The British Dream: Successes and Failures of Post-War Immigration, he suggested that high immigration can threaten national identity and solidarity.
