"Ambient Music must be able to accommodate many levels of listening attention without enforcing one in particular; it must be as ignorable as it is interesting."

Brian Eno is a musician and visual artist. He played the synthesiser and contributed "treatments" for the iconic glam rock outfit Roxy Music for a period, before embarking on a successful solo career with classic albums like Another Green World. As his career developed, Eno transitioned into increasingly experimental and genre-defining "ambient music", a term coined by Eno himself. Ambient music's stated aim was to modify the environment of the listener, with Eno curating soundtracks for various milieus from airports to outer space.

As a record producer, Eno has worked with the likes of Talking Heads, U2, Anna Calvi, and Ultravox.
