"It's strange that anyone who questions the consensus that has failed ordinary people is viewed as being slightly not sensible."
Richard Burgon MP is a Labour Party politician and the Shadow Justice Secretary.
Following a successful career as a trade union lawyer, Burgon was elected into Parliament in 2015. In the same year, he nominated Jeremy Corbyn as a candidate in the Labour leadership election. Burgon has continued to support Corbyn, and has confirmed his own status as a key member and media spokesperson of the Labour Party’s left-wing.
In recent years, Burgon has been a vocal critic of Conservative cuts to legal aid, and he continues to argue for the restoration of a comprehensive legal aid package.
"Burgon's commitment to Corbynism has led to speculation that he could be a potential successor". New Statesman
