"The figure to watch" - The Guardian (William Davies)
Jon Lansman is founder of the 40,000-strong pro-Corbyn pressure group Momentum. As an outspoken defender of the incumbent Labour leader against his many internal and cross-party detractors, Lansman has weighed in recently on such looming issues as Brexit and anti-Semitism within Labour.
Politically active since the 80s, Lansman receded during the New Labour years but reemerged to steer support for Corbyn in the 2015 leadership race. Though identifying as an atheist, Lansman has an Orthodox Jewish background, and credits part of his political awakening to a spell in a kibbutz during adolescence.
