Felix Ringel is a social anthropologist working on urban anthropology and the anthropology of time. He currently holds a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Fellowship at Durham University. Felix's first monograph, Back to the Postindustrial Future: An Ethnography of Germany's Fastest-Shrinking City documents the imagination of the future in a rapidly shrinking postsocialist city.

Felix is currently authoring a second work called Urban Sustainability and the Future, which he will be discussing in his solo talk How To Be Sustainable.

"Ringel offers a refreshing perspective that questions many of the established narratives about the legacy of socialism" - German Studies Review
