'The patriarchy' has become a powerful feminist watchword for the unequal division of power between men and women. In some fields though the tables are turned.  Women are a third more likely to go to university, three quarters of teachers are women, and in the courts women predominantly get custody of children.  Should we be demanding equality for men in these areas?  Or are there arenas where equality is a mistaken goal and women should have the upper hand?
