Burning Salt is a music, art and poetry project by Hannah Hull. Poetic, raw and alive, Burning Salt’s sound draws on folk, country and blues. Hull creates drawings and poetry alongside her songwriting process and is known for her startlingly honest songs and distinctive low-register voice. Fans have described her unusual vocal style as “scraped out of an ashtray somewhere in the early 90s,” and “Friday night meets Sunday morning.” In 2019, Burning Salt was nominated ‘Rising Star’ in Folking’s International Folk Music Awards, and featured on BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction.
