Sunita Narain is a legendary environmentalist and political activist. She is director of the Centre for Science and Environment, director of the Society for Environmental Communications, and editor of Down To Earth magazine. Sunita began working with the Centre for Science and Environment in 1982 whilst still completing her studies at the University of Delhi. Her primary focus at the Centre is the relationship between environment and development, and creating a public consciousness around the need for sustainable development. She has also been a member of the Indian Prime Minister’s Council on Climate Change and has been awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour.

Sunita has recently received international acclaim by being named on Time Magazine's list of 100 Most Influential People and featuring in Leonardo DiCaprio's 2016 documentary Before The Flood. She has also authored eleven books, the most recent of which Conflicts of Interest is a personal account of Sunita’s battles as part of the country's Green Movement
