"The restless nature of science, in a continual process of augmentation and revision, is its essential strength as a system of knowledge." Chris Impey
Chris Impey is a Distinguished Professor at Arizona University, where he leads one of the largest astronomy departments in the USA. He has been awarded $18 million from NASA and the NSF, and has had 24 projects given time on astronomy's premier research facility, the Hubble Space Telescope.

When he isn't actively researching, Chris spreads his excitement for astronomy far and wide. For over a decade he has travelled to India to teach science to Buddhist monks and has published several popular science books such as Einstein's Monsters, The Living Cosmos and Humble Before the Void.

"Chris Impey manages to rejuvenate that 'Space Is Our Future' feeling that pervaded human culture a half century ago. A needed reminder that, today, not enough of us are looking up, and even fewer among us are doing anything about it."  Neil deGrasse Tyson
