"No serious challenge on the Left exists to Third Way thinking anywhere in the world...we are all 'Thatcherite' now."
One of the best known ministers of the Blair and Brown governments, Peter Mandelson has held positions as Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Northern Ireland Secretary, and Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills. He is a former European Trade Commissioner and British First Secretary of State. He was Member of Parliament for Hartlepool and Director of Campaigns and Communications for the Labour Party between 1985 and 1990.
Rumoured to be an unofficial adviser to Keir Starmer and his team, Peter keeps his hand firmly in politics, regularly writing in the press or speaking to the media about his great passion: getting the Labour party elected.
Peter is Co-founder and Chairman of Global Counsel as well as being a Senior Adviser to Lazard and a member of the International Advisory Committee of BlueVoyant, a cyber security company. He is President of the Great Britain China Centre and Governor and Member of the Council of Management at the Ditchley Foundation.
