Mark Williams is a Professor of Palaeobiology in the School of Geography, Geology and the Environment at Leicester University in the United Kingdom. He is the co-author of the popular science books, ‘The Goldilocks Planet’, ‘Ocean Worlds’ and ‘Skeletons the frame of life’, and of the forthcoming book ‘The Cosmic Oasis’. For more than a decade he has worked on the concept of the Anthropocene, that humans are fundamentally altering the Earth’s systems of water, life, air and earth. And to that end, he recently co-wrote the book ‘The Anthropocene: a multidisciplinary approach’.
