By promoting and providing a platform for all forms of creative expression, the iai fosters an open and vibrant intellectual culture in the UK, combining innovative thought with rich experience.

Research Trainee/Intern

This is a unique opportunity to play a key part in the growth of a new arts venture, the Institute of Art and Ideas (IAI). The IAI is a non-profit organisation that seeks to bring new ideas in the arts to the wider public through cultural festivals held in Hay-on-Wye.

Based in central London, the successful candidate will focus on programming our art, philosophy and music festivals: HowTheLightGetsIn and Crunch. You will be working in a team which creates, devises, and organises a whole range of exciting events from talks and debates, to music, performance, and exhibitions. You will research and initiate ideas, book speakers and help set up the events. You will be given your own areas of responsibility with the opportunity to make a real contribution to the projects.

This is a challenging and varied opportunity that will really open doors for a graduate who is keen to start a career in the events development and media.

The festivals take place biannually, and we are looking for trainees to start as soon as possible.

All applicants should have an excellent educational background, and a keen interest in and knowledge of philosophy and culture in general. You will also need to demonstrate project management skills, and some experience of journalism, PR, or events.

CVs and covering letters should be sent to jobs@artandideas.org with 'Research Trainee/Intern' as the subject heading.
